Kevin Emerson is the author of the Atlanteans series, which I have yet to read. He is no stranger to books.
Exile is the first book in a fresh new series.
I was so looking forwards to reading this s I haven't read a lot of contemporaries involving music.
This was a story about music, romance and freedom when someone believes in you.
I enjoyed the mystery element to the storyline, and as it contained music, it was packed full of entertainment.
I liked how the story was written. It was simple and easy to understand.
The story is told from Summer's perspective. She was a character I really warmed to.
I wasn't sure about the character Caleb.
There were times when I felt a little disconnected with the characters.
The chapters had a decent length and I liked how they were structured with a tweet at the beginning of each one. I found this to be pretty cool and had a modern effect.
From the start, I was straight in. I found it to be very witty and hilaarious and couldn't wait to carry on.
The end of the book was so abrupt, but as it is part of a series, I guess all will conclude in the next sequel.
I would definitely pick up the next book to see what would happen.
So overall I did like this book, and so I gave it three and a half out of five stars.
This is definitely one of those books to read in the summer. A definite hit for all contemporary lovers out there. Keep your eye out for it!
